Making a referral to CAPE is easy.
Client referrals to Cape can be made by any mental health professional for clients currently accessing secondary mental health services and who are residing in the London Borough of Ealing.
We offer two types of membership: Cafe Membership and Outreach Support; the appropriate service is to be selected by the referrer. Cafe Membership assumes that clients are able and willing to come unaccompanied into our premises in Acton and Southall in order to access our services. Outreach Support is designed for clients who are more chronic in need and for whom it would be unreasonable to expect them to come into our premises in order to access support. These clients are given a CAPE outreach worker who works with them in their home or out in the community, introducing structure and appropriate meaningful activity into their lives, and offering them encouragement and hope as they embark on their recovery journey.
Referral forms can be accessed here and can be returned via post or email.
Once the referral forms are received by Cape, they are logged on to a waiting list and reviewed by the team in a fortnightly meeting. An appropriate staff member is allocated to each referral who will then contact the client to arrange an induction appointment, and then inform the referral of that appointment. Once the client has been inducted, they are registered as members of CAPE and can access the service.
